Paper One Instructions:

‘We will now start the Placement Test.  This test has two papers.  This is Paper One.  There are two sections in this paper, one on each side of the Question paper.   (Raise and show that the paper is double sided)  Write your answers on the Question Paper.  You have 40 minutes to complete this part of the test.  At the end of the 40 minutes I will collect the paper.  Write your name, and School Cert. Number on your paper.  Do not start until I tell you.’

Paper Two Instructions:

‘You will now have Paper Two.  This paper has three sections.  You will have one hour for this paper.  The questions are on both sides of the Paper.  You will also have an answer sheet.  You should use your pencil to shade the correct circle, A, B, C, or D.  You must only shade one answer for each question.  If you make a mistake, use your eraser.  The Question Paper will not be marked so please make sure that you copy all your answers onto your answer sheet.  Do not fold or bend the answer sheet.  I will now give you the answer sheet.  First, write in your name, college, and School Cert. Number.  Then shade one bubble in each column to form your School Cert. Number.  You must shade five bubbles.  If your number is only 4 numbers, add a zero at the front.  For example, 9999 would shade 0 9 9 9 9.  Do not begin until I tell you to.’
